Alexander, by the Grace of God of Hanover and Athenoi King, Emperor of Calormen, and Head of the Commonwealth to our loyal subjects, and whatsoever to whom these presents shall come, greeting.



WHEREAS it is fitting that the nation shall have a means of certification, training and responsibility for the practitioners of law,



LET IT BE KNOWN that it is Our Will and Pleasure that the ROYAL BAR ASSOCIATION be created and established.



WE DO FURTHER subject this subject to this charter and compel it to obey and uphold the strictures contained herein and the highest callings of truth and justice,



I. The Throne shall be the supreme sovereignty of the association having the power of induction without nomination and review at its discretion.



II. The Throne shall not have the power of expulsion.



III. Inductees shall be known as barrister.



IV. A barrister shall be appointed for a term certain of 4 years.



V. A barrister may nominate himself for induction prior to the end of his term.



VI. A barrister may nominate any citizen, or with the sovereigns permission any foreigner, for induction.



VII. The association shall be ruled by a Board of Trustees.



VIII. The Board of Trustees shall be elected in open election from the members.



IX. Upon an open seat on the Board of Trustees there shall immediately be an election from the general membership to fill the seat.



X. The term of a Trustee shall be 4 months.



XI. The Board of Trustees shall publish and maintain its own standards of qualification for induction as set by its members in open vote. The standards must include the requirement of the nominee receiving 1/2 of the vote of the board of trustee membership in open vote to complete the process of induction and that the inductee affirm perpetual obedience to the standards, this charter and the laws of the Kingdom of Hanover.



XII. The Board of Trustees shall review its standards of induction annually during a convention it shall hold for this purpose.



XIII. The Board of Trustees shall be set at three, plus one for every 30 members to a total of 15.



XIV. The association shall elect, from its members, a President which shall represent the society in all official capacities with respect to the Throne and in all legal matters and shall be responsible for same.



XV. The term of the President shall be the natural remainder of the elected Trustee's term.



XVI. A new President shall be elected in open vote of the Board of Trustees immediately upon vacancy of the office.



XVII. When the office of the President is vacant the most senior member of the board of trustees shall take up the responsibility of the office until the election is resolved.



XVIII. The association shall certify that its members are competent to practice the profession of law in the Kingdom of Hanover and the commonwealth.



XIX. Members shall be expelled from the association by peer review with a vote of 2/3 of the membership voting to convict a member accused of improper conduct including violation of the standards of the society, this charter, or the laws of the Kingdom of Hanover.



XX. Members shall have the right of appeal to the sovereign reguarding any conviction by the peers.



XI. Accusation of improper conduct including violation of the standards of the society, this charter, or the laws of the Kingdom of Hanover shall not inhibit the Justice from the practice of law until such time as the accusation is resolved in conviction.



XII. In the event of a perfect tie in any vote the sovereign, or his designated representative, shall cast the deciding vote.



XIII. The sovereign may adjust this charter only upon consent of 1/2 the membership in open vote.



In Witness whereof We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent WITNESS of Ourself at Our court at Gagarin palace this Eight day of March in the Year of Grace 2004, the First year of Our Reign.
