On this date one year ago, HRH Prince Justin Leopold Albert Christian George ascended the Hanoverian Throne as King James II. His Majesty's ascension maked the restoration of Hanover's founding Royal House of Marchmain following the long and illustrious reign of King Alexander.

His Majesty King James II arrived on the throne at a time when the phenomenon of non-territorial nations had begun to fade. Many have vanished. The long-lived and highly renowned Ascalonian Empire--Hanover's great ally--met her demise during James' first year. Of the nations that remain, few show any signs of notable activity. The Kingdom of Hanover, like so many others, has herself seen a marked decline in activity over the course of the past year.

Despite it all, however, the Kingdom of Hanover remains. Today, she is but a suggestion of her former self, yet she continues to develop and to advance, despite her receding population. His Majesty the King has recently authorized cultural enhancements designed to re-orient our community to her traditional Anglophile ways. These cultural enhancements will continue over the course of the coming months, until Hanover's past cultural errors have at last been corrected.

His Majesty the King laments the events which led to the dissolution of Parliament and sincerely hopes that one day soon it will become opportune for him to summon Parliament once again. Until that day, the great work of Hanover's development will continue.

It has been my very great pleasure to know His Majesty over these many years, and it is my honour to be able to serve him in his ongoing task of redeveloping our cherished kingdom.

Today, on this happy occasion, I join all loyal Hanoverians in congratulating our King, His Majesty King James II, on the completion of the first year of what I hope will be a long and glittering reign.

God save the King!
