James Richard Edward George
By the Favour of His Majesty the King
Lord Bishop of Kells
By the Favour of His Majesty the King
Lord Bishop of Kells
Greeting and Benediction.
Whereas on the Seventeenth Day of July the Supremacy of the Crown was maintained and reinforced by the decisive action of Our Sovereign Lord the King against a band of rebels that sought to divest His Majesty of his Supremacy over both Church and State,
And whereas those notorious rebels and schismatics were routed on that day by His Majesty's actions,
Therefore now I do solemnly decree, by virtue of my Royal Mandate and my authority as Lord Bishop of Kells that henceforward each year on the Seventeenth of July shall be celebrated, by the singing of Te Deum and the National Anthem, and other such anthems as may seem fitting, the Solemnity of the Supremacy of the Crown in and throughout the Bishopric of Kells.
