JAMES THE SECOND by the Grace of God of Hanover and Varennes King, Head of the Commonwealth, Defender of the Faith, Supreme Governor of the Church of Hanover, to Wulfstan, by that name or any other, formerly Our Lord Archbishop of Bergen and Primate of Our established Church of Hanover; Christopher D. McQueeny, by that name or any other, formerly an Archdeacon within Our established Church of Hanover; and Alexander von Kassel, by that name or any other, formerly Prothonotory Archiepiscopal of the Archbishopric of Bergen and Canon Capitular of the Cathedral of St. George at Bergen, and to any and all persons whatsoever to whom these presents shall come or whom the same may in any wise concern, for an everlasting remembrance of Our Will, Greeting:

It is with the most sincere regret that We do receive in Our hands the petition of Our faithful and most dear Lord, the Bishop of Kells, who was the first of Our loving Subjects to alert Us to the nefarious and schismatic actions of the former Primate of Our established Church, the late the Lord Archbishop of Bergen and his clergy to that See committed, denying most publicly Our Supremacy in and over the established Church of this Realm, which Supremacy was granted to our predecessor King Alexander of happy memory and all of his successors by a lawful and binding Act of Parliament:

That schismatic prelate did, along with his clergy, also now in schism, willingly and happily subscribe his name to a declaration in the public forums of this Realm, in several places posted, denying for all Our Subjects to see, Our Supreme Authority over Our Church of Hanover:

In so doing, all three men put themselves, at once, outside of Our authority and therefore did engage in a formally schismatic act, insofar as they did openly and publicly refuse submission to the authority of the Crown or even their fealty to the same:

The whole Kingdom knows already how, at this sad moment, these adversaries of the Crown have made themselves detestable by their attempts, which were characterized by their lying hypocrisy, in trying to deprive Us of Our Supremacy over the Church of Hanover:

They could not, of course, obtain their end by force of arms, nor would they so attempt to do by legislation, but only by false and pernicious principles, by cunning dissimulation in their conduct, and by maliciously attempting to provoke, by their deceits, a popular rising:

They did not blush to counsel the People to sedition against their Prince, which is clearly and distinctly condemned by the Apostle when he says: "let every soul be subject unto the higher powers, for there is no power but of God, the powers that are ordained of God; whosoever therefore resisteth the power resisteth the ordinance of God, and they that shall resist shall receive to themselves damnation.":

These wicked innovators, in attacking the Supremacy of the Crown, and in despising its venerable authority, go so far in their impudence as to feign esteem for the Crown and obedience to the commands thereof. They have taken oaths of loyalty and fidelity to Our Sacred Person, and yet do they deny the very Sovereignty that they have so solemnly sworn to uphold:

And it is the more to be deplored that those on whom the duty was imposed to safeguard the dignity and unity of the Church have, themselves, led the charge against her, seeking only to subdue her and at last to destroy her:

Therefore let it be known that it is now Our will and pleasure that the traitor known to us as "Wulfstan", in schism the Lord Archbishop of Bergen and Primate of Our Church of Hanover, the traitor known to Us as "Alexander von Kassel", in schism the Canon Capitular of Our Cathedral of Saint George in Bergen and a Prothonotary of the Archbishopric of Bergen, and the traitor known but suddenly as Christopher D. McQueeny, in schism an Archdeacon in the Church of Hanover, be herewith deprived of every office, rank, title, style, benefice, dignity, honour, privilege, preeminence and prerogative that each and all of them may at present enjoy, whether ecclesiastical or secular:

Furthermore We do now decree, declare, pronounce and publish by virtue of Our Supreme Authority over the Church of Hanover, that each and every of the aforementioned traitors and schismatics is, with immediate effect, from this day forward into perpetuity, excommunicated from Our established Church of Hanover, deprived forever of membership thereof, and perpetually barred from admission to any and every institution of Our established Church, including every public forum maintained for the use thereof:

We do also herewith deprive the aformentioned traitors of their seats in Our Parliament at Bergen and do finally deprive them indefinitely of their citizenships within Our Realms of Hanover and Varennes:

And for the greater validity and testimony thereof, we do command our principal minister to subscribe to this document his manual sign and to affix hereto the Great Seal of Our Kingdom of Hanover and to empower him, when convenient, to likewise affix hereto the Great Seal of Our Kingdom of Varennes:

And We desire that these Presents be effective now and in the future; that what is decreed by these Presents be scrupulously observed by those whom they concern and that these Presents attain the purpose for which they are issued:

And that the efficacy of these Presents may not be obstructed by contrary prescriptions of any kind, We herewith abrogate all such prescriptions:

Therefore, if anyone, no matter what his authority, shall either knowingly or unknowingly act contrary to what We have by these Presents ordained and decreed, We command that such acts be considered entirely null and void. Moreover, no one may lawfully efface or destroy these documents of Our will; indeed, to copies of these Presents and extracts therefrom, which bear the seal of an Officer of the Crown and the signature of a public notary, there is to be accorded the very same credence that would be given to these Presents themselves if they were exhibited:

And should anyone contemn or in any manner whatsoever detract from these Presents, let him know that he thereby subjects himself to the penalties established by law for those who do not fulfill the commands of the Sovereign.

Witness Ourself at Our Court of Saint George's Palace this Seventeenth Day of July in the Year of Grace Two Thousand and Nine, the First of Our Reign.
