At the Court of Saint George's Palace, the Fifteenth day of July, 2009.

Present: The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council.


WHEREAS the King in Council has seen fit to make revisions to the Schedule of the Ministers of the Crown Act 2008:

AND WHEREAS the Ministers of the Crown Act 2008 empowers the King to amend and modify the Schedule to the aforementioned Act in such manner as he thinks fit, provided always that no such amendment shall have effect unless countersigned by his chief minister:

BE IT THEREFORE ORDERED by the King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council that the Orders in Council of Twenty-first April 2008, known as the "Premiership Order 2008", and the Orders in Council of Seventeenth April 2008, known as the "Ministry Order 2008", are hereby rescinded, and that the Schedule to the said Ministers of the Crown Act of 2008 is hereby revised accordingly:


Schedule: Register of Ministerial Offices

Prime Minister

1. The Prime Minister and Lord High Treasurer shall be the chief minister of the Crown; shall advise the King on the appointment of all other ministers, and on the general administration of the Kingdom; and shall exercise the duties of any ministerial office that should fall vacant.


Great Officers of State

2. The Lord High Steward shall direct the affairs of the Royal Court and the Royal Household, and the ceremonies pertaining thereto; shall regulate the usage of heraldic symbols and ensigns within the Kingdom; and shall preside at meetings of the Great Council.

3. The Lord High Chancellor shall be the keeper of the Great Seal of the Kingdom of Hanover and shall, along with any adjutants that may be given to assist him, have responsibility for the drafting, sealing and gazetting of all documents of the Crown; and shall serve as the King's Visitor and overseer of all royally-established Universities and centres of learning.

4. The Lord President of the Council shall communicate the various Orders made in the Privy Council to the public; shall act as a spokesman for the said Council; and shall execute such other duties as the King may think fit.

5. The Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal shall execute such duties as the King may think fit.

6. The Lord High Constable shall maintain peace and order in the King's realms and territories; and shall oversee all officers and institutions pertaining to the prevention of crimes and the correction of offenders.

7. The Lord High Admiral shall have general command and oversight over the Royal Navy and shall advise the King with respect to all offices and divisions thereof, and all appointments thereunto.


The Foreign Office

7. The Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs shall direct the negotiation of treaties and other international agreements; and shall advise the King on the appointment of Ambassadors to foreign states, and all other matters connected to the Kingdom's reputation in the world at large, and her relations with foreign powers.


The Home Office

8. The Secretary of State for Home Affairs shall administer the Home Office; shall advise the King on the appointment of the Ministers therein; and shall execute the duties of any ministerial position in the Home Office that should be vacant.

9. The Minister of Culture shall promote the growth and maintenance of the fine arts and all aspects of culture in Hanover; and shall administer all royally-established museums, galleries, theatres, and concert halls.

10. The Minister of Immigration shall direct the immigration and naturalization of new Hanoverian citizens; shall give aide to new citizens as they require; and shall administer a national register of citizens together with the Minister of Statistics.

11. The Ministers Without Portfolio, who shall execute such duties as the King may think fit, shall be (i) the Lord Keeper of the Privy Seal, (ii) the King's Remembrancer, (iii) the Master of the Horse, and (iv) the Master-General of the Ordnance.
