Christopher Livingston

My Lords and Gentlemen,

Together with the Most Reverend Prelate, the Lord Archbishop of Bergen, the events of recent weeks have convinced me that the time has come for me to focus on the Church, and finally to lay down any last remnants of my political career in this Kingdom.

Therefore, I do hereby resign my office as Lord High Steward of Hanover, and I surrender my insignia of office unto His Majesty. Furthermore I do resign my office as a member of His Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council, but I swear that I will honour the oath of secrecy I took when I became a Privy Counsellor.

Although I may, from time to time, comment on the proceedings of this august House, my focus from now on is the Church, not the State.
