JAMES THE SECOND, by the Grace of God of Hanover and Varennes King, Defender of the Faith, and of the Church of Hanover Supreme Governor, unto the Most Reverend the Lord Archbishop of Bergen, and unto all Our most loving, faithful, and obedient subjects, Greeting.

WHEREAS Our Royal Predecessor Alexander the First did by an Order given in His Most Honourable Privy Council, bearing date at the Court of Saint George's Palace the Twelfth day of January, in the Year of Our Lord Two-thousand and nine, constitute, erect, and establish the Justiciar to be His principal and foremost minister, providing also that the same officer should advise Him upon the appointment of all of His diverse other ministers, and upon the general conduct of His Government in and over this Realm of Hanover; and yet the same office of Justiciar aforesaid, as We are informed, stands vacant by the resignation of Our trusty and beloved Counsellor Christopher Livingston:

KNOW YE NOW that We, of Our especial grace, certain knowledge, and mere motion, and of Our Prerogative Royal in this respect, very much confiding in his fidelity, prudence, provident circumspection, and industry, have thought fit to appoint and constitute the same Lord Archbishop of Bergen aforesaid to be Our Justiciar, enjoying all powers, privileges, and preeminences to the said office under the Laws and Customs of Our Kingdom of Hanover properly appertaining:

AND WE DO strictly enjoining command that he should present himself before Us on the Thirteenth day of June, when it shall be Our gracious pleasure to sit together with the Prelates, Great Men, and Peers of Our Realm in full Parliament, forasmuch as We do evince and design therein to appoint him unto the same office of Justiciar aforesaid, in meet obedience to the Laws and Constitutions of Our Realm.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF, We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent, and the Great Seal of Our Kingdom of Hanover to be hereunto affixed, Witness Ourself at Our Court at Marchmain Palace this Tenth Day of June, in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand Nine, in the First Year of Our Reign.

Trusty and beloved subject, confiding thee to be My good and worthy servant, I appoint thee to be my Justiciar, by Mine unquestioned and rightful power as the King of this Realm. And I do strictly enjoining command thee to undertake thine office with the wisdom and sagacity becoming a minister of the Crown, for upon thee lieth the peace and good ordering of My Kingdom.

JAMES THE SECOND, by the Grace of God of Hanover and Varennes King, Defender of the Faith, and of the Church of Hanover Supreme Governor, unto Our trusty and beloved Counsellor Christopher Livingston, and unto all Our most loving, faithful, and obedient subjects, Greeting.

WHEREAS Our Royal Predecessor Alexander the First did by an Order given in His Most Honourable Privy Council, bearing date at the Court of Saint George's Palace the Seventeenth day of April, in the Year of Our Lord Two-thousand and eight, constitute, erect, and establish the Lord High Steward to direct the affairs of the Royal Court and the Royal Household, and the ceremonies pertaining thereto, and regulate the usage of heraldic symbols and ensigns within the Kingdom, and by right of his office, to preside at meetings of the Great Council if the King himself does not elect so to do; and yet the same office of Lord High Steward aforesaid, as We are informed, stands vacant by the resignation of the Most Reverend the Lord Archbishop of Bergen:

KNOW YE NOW that We, of Our especial grace, certain knowledge, and mere motion, and of Our Prerogative Royal in this respect, very much confiding in his fidelity, prudence, provident circumspection, and industry, have thought, by the advice of Our Justiciar fit to appoint and constitute the same Christopher Livingston aforesaid to be Our Lord High Steward, enjoying all powers, privileges, and preeminences to the said office under the Laws and Customs of Our Kingdom of Hanover properly appertaining:

AND WE DO strictly enjoining command that he should present himself before Us on the Thirteenth day of June, when it shall be Our gracious pleasure to sit together with the Prelates, Great Men, and Peers of Our Realm in full Parliament, forasmuch as We do evince and design therein to appoint him unto the same office of Lord High Steward aforesaid, in meet obedience to the Laws and Constitutions of Our Realm.

WHEREAS Our Royal Predecessor Alexander the First did by an Order given in His Most Honourable Privy Council, bearing date at the Court of Saint George's Palace the Seventeenth day of April, in the Year of Our Lord Two-thousand and eight, constitute, erect, and establish the Lord High Treasurer to administer the various properties held by the Crown and the Kingdom, including the national discussion forum and the national website.; and yet the same office of Lord High Treasurer aforesaid, as We are informed, stands vacant by the determination of Our High Court of Parliament:

KNOW YE NOW that We, of Our especial grace, certain knowledge, and mere motion, and of Our Prerogative Royal in this respect, very much confiding in his fidelity, prudence, provident circumspection, and industry, have thought, by the advice of Our Justiciar fit to appoint and constitute the same Duke of Gottingen aforesaid to be Our Lord High Treasurer, enjoying all powers, privileges, and preeminences to the said office under the Laws and Customs of Our Kingdom of Hanover properly appertaining:

AND WE DO strictly enjoining command that he should present himself before Us on the Thirteenth day of June, when it shall be Our gracious pleasure to sit together with the Prelates, Great Men, and Peers of Our Realm in full Parliament, forasmuch as We do evince and design therein to appoint him unto the same office of Lord High Treasurer aforesaid, in meet obedience to the Laws and Constitutions of Our Realm.

WHEREAS Our Royal Predecessor Alexander the First did by an Order given in His Most Honourable Privy Council, bearing date at the Court of Saint George's Palace the Seventeenth day of April, in the Year of Our Lord Two-thousand and eight, constitute, erect, and establish the Secretary of State for Home Affairs to administer the Home Office and to co-ordinate the general domestic policy of Our Realm; and yet the same office of Home Secretary aforesaid, as We are informed, stands vacant by the determination of Our High Court of Parliament:

KNOW YE NOW that We, of Our especial grace, certain knowledge, and mere motion, and of Our Prerogative Royal in this respect, very much confiding in his fidelity, prudence, provident circumspection, and industry, have thought, by the advice of Our Justiciar fit to appoint and constitute the same Alexander von Kassel aforesaid to be Our Home Secretary, enjoying all powers, privileges, and preeminences to the said office under the Laws and Customs of Our Kingdom of Hanover properly appertaining:

AND WE DO strictly enjoining command that he should present himself before Us on the Thirteenth day of June, when it shall be Our gracious pleasure to sit together with the Prelates, Great Men, and Peers of Our Realm in full Parliament, forasmuch as We do evince and design therein to appoint him unto the same office of Home Secretary aforesaid, in meet obedience to the Laws and Constitutions of Our Realm.
