My Lords and Gentlemen:

As discussion during a vote on a particular resolution is not permitted, I would point out, here, that there is a grammatical error in the current standing orders that should be rectified:

Quote:8. The Crown-in-Parliament exercises its supreme legislative authority by promulgating Acts of Parliament, agreed to by a majority of the House, and granted the Royal Assent.

I believe the word 'granted' is meant to read 'grants'.

Perhaps, while amending the numbering, we could also correct this error.
