WE, ALEXANDER THE FIRST, by the Grace of God of Hanover, Varennes King, Emperor of Laitenburg, Prince of New Bergen, Defender of the Faith, and of the Church of Hanover Supreme Governor, do hereby declare and signify Our irrevocable determination to abdicate and renounce Our Throne of Hanover, Varennes and the Commonwealth of Hanover, reserving and retaining for Ourself however, the Thrones of the Holy Roman Empire of Laitenburg, and the Principality of New Bergen; And it is Our good pleasure and Our command that this Our Instrument should come into force on Monday, the Eighteenth day of May in the year of Grace Two-thousand and Nine at the hour of noon Eastern standard time.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF We have hereunto set Our hand at Our Court of Saint George's Palace, this Fifteenth Day of May, in the Year of Grace Two-thousand and Nine, in the presence of those witnesses who have subscribed their names hereunto.
