BY THE KING A PROCLAMATION
Recognizing Laitenburgh as a Sovereign Nation
within the Hanoverian Commonwealth
Alexander Rex
And Whereas We, after most grave and careful discourse with Our several Ministers and servants, and others among Our most sagacious subjects, have been persuaded that such a recognition as aforesaid would tend toward the peace and good governance of Our Realm of Hanover, and the betterment of Our loving subjects presently residing in the said County of Laitenburgh:
Know ye now that We, of Our especial grace, certain knowledge, and mere motion, and of Our Prerogative Royal in this respect subject to the Laws and Conventions of Our Realm of Hanover, have thought fit to proclaim and declare, and do by these Presents so proclaim and declare, that the County of Laitenburgh shall henceforth be a sovereign, independent, and autonomous nation within Our Hanoverian Commonwealth:
And We do grant unto it the name, style, and title of the Holy Roman Empire of Laitenburg, and We strictly enjoin that it shall ever be known as such amongst Our loving subjects, both in Our Realm of Hanover, and in Our divers other Realms and Territories: And We do further solemnly provide and command that all within the Holy Roman Empire of Laitenburg shall continue to render obedience unto Us, and Our heirs and successors, under the title of Emperor of Laitenburg, which shall now and unto posterity be united with Our one Crown of Hanover and Varennes:
And Whereas it is not presently convenient for Us, on account of Our divers and weighty duties elsewhere, now personally to rule Our Realm of Laitenburg, We do elect and appoint Our said right trusty and entirely beloved Cousin and Counsellor Daniel Dreesbach, Count of Damoneigh, to be Our Imperial Vicar in and over the Holy Roman Empire of Laitenburg, and we do concede unto him, and such others as may succeed in his office by Our appointment, the free exercise of Our sovereign authority within Our said Realm of Laitenburg:
Provided Always that We do maintain and reserve Our ability to dismiss him and any other who may succeed in his said office of Imperial Vicar in and over the Holy Roman Empire of Laitenburg if such should be Our will and pleasure, and to assume personal rule within Our Realm of Laitenburg should it be needful.
Given at Our Court of Saint George's Palace this Fourteenth Day of June in the Year of Our Lord, Two Thousand and Eight.
GOD SAVE THE KING!
