KING ALEXANDER THE FIRST

CHAPTER II
The Examination Act 2008

1. No person shall be a Minister of the Crown unless he has satisfactorily completed the Civil Service Examination, which shall be composed and administered privately by the King or his appointee, at such times and places as may be convenient.

2. The Examination shall comprise a number of statements concerning the constitution and laws of Hanover, and the history of the Kingdom, which the examinee shall mark as being true or false. There shall additionally be a question on some matter pertinent to ministerial office, in response to which the examinee shall write a short essay, which shall be used to assess his competency in English composition.

3. The King and his Ministers, together with such educational institutions as may exist in the Kingdom, shall provide instruction and other aid to those who will take the Examination, and shall publish sufficient materials for study on the matters assessed.

4. Ministers of the Crown who were appointed prior to the passage of this Act shall be obliged to take the Examination, and shall retain their office only if they satisfactorily complete it.
