The Naturalization (Amendment) Bill
A Bill to correct certain grammatical and orthographic errors appearing in the Naturalization Act 2006; to revise the forms and processes pertaining to immigration; and to permit Hanoverian subjects to relinquish their citizenship.

Be it enacted by the King's Most Excellent Majesty, by and with the Advice and Consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the Authority of the same, as follows:―

1. This Act may be cited as the Naturalization (Amendment) Act 2008.

2.―(1) The Naturalization Act 2006 shall be amended to effect reforms and improvements to the immigration process, as follows.
(2) In Section 2, in Subsection 3, Paragraph B shall be repealed.
(3) In Section 3, in Subsection 1, Paragraphs F and G shall be repealed.
(4) In Section 3, for Subsection 6 there shall be substituted the following―
Quote:6. Applicants for citizenship shall submit their application form by means of―
(a) physical post,
(b) an electronic form provided on the national website, or
(c) a note-card in Second Life.
(5) In Section 5, there shall be inserted the following Subsection―
Quote:6. A citizen, or probationary citizen, shall have the right to petition the Home Office to voluntarily relinquish his citizenship. Such request shall be acknowledged and executed pending a fourteen (14) day holding period. During the holding period the citizen may cancel the request.
3. The Schedule to this Act, which contains grammatical and orthographic corrections, shall have effect.
