O God, save the King!
Strong and majestic,
Reign for glory, For our glory! (2x)

Reign to foes' dismay,
Defender of the Faith.
God, save the King, God, save the King! (2x)

My Lords and Gentlemen,

I believe that this Bill is fairly self-explanatory. His Majesty's Government considers that something a bit more traditional and monarchical than the current anthem should be used. At the same time, we did not simply want to jump on the "God Save the King" bandwagon; so, we used the tune of the old Russian anthem, which is really quite nice, and set proper English words to it. If this Bill passes, a rendition of the new anthem will be forthcoming.
My Lords and Gentlemen,

What a splendid idea! The tune, while simple and easy to learn for those of us who are, shall I say, singing-impaired, also has a degree of majestic grandeur befitting of the respect we Hanoverians hold for the traditions of monarchy. I commend this Bill to the House and thank my right honorable friend for his works toward this proposal.
My Lords and Gentlemen, I beg to move that the Bill do now pass.

My Lords and Gentlemen,

The Question is that the Bill do now pass.
