Dread Sovereign Lord:

It is with more than a twinge of regret that I must inform Your Majesty that I will be traveling beginning tomorrow, Wednesday, August 22, and will not return until Tuesday, August 28 late in the day. During that time, I will need to close my office and will also be unable to fulfill my parliamentary duties.

I sincerely apologize for being unavailable like this during this crucial time for the Government, especially seeing as I had to take another short leave last week, but I am also really looking forward to this opportunity to do some traveling with my family and friends, and intend to return refreshed and ready to take on the exciting new challenges you have been so kind as to give me in summoning me to Parliament and the office of Secretary of State.

Earlier today, I did receive a Writ of Summons from the Chancery, informing me that a Parliament, to which I have been appointed will be convened sometime today. I have yet to notice any further information about that, and am unsure if I will be able to "check in" at Parliament before I depart. It's also unlikely that I will be able to attend the State Opening of Parliament, so I wish you and my fellow parliamentarians the best of luck with the ceremony; I'm truly sorry I won't be able to be in attendance.

Respectfully,

Carson Smith
