Dread Sovereign Lord,

It is my considered opinion as a Hanoverian jurist, and my counsel as Your Majesty's Prime Minister, that the Parliament ought now to be dissolved. With the passage of the Parliament Act, Parliament now has no licit members, since members can only sit by a Writ of Summons. Thus, it would be illegal to proceed with any business.

It would of course be possible to simply send the Writs while keeping the current body in existence, but I think that a dissolution, and hence a State Opening of Parliament with the attendant Speech from the Throne, would be an excellent way to mark the beginning of my Ministry.

Also, I would like to give Your Majesty notice that I will be regaining permanent Internet access in my room on Monday or Tuesday of next week.

Your servant,

Oldenburg

PS: Normally advice such as this would be tendered privately, but as you know HM Government strongly believes in public decision-making except where privacy is absolutely vital.
Dread Sovereign Lord,

I am pleased to give notice that I now have regained Internet access in my room! This should greatly facilitate the conduct of government business...
