An Act to establish and organize the Department of the Royal Household

BE IT ENACTED by the King's most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords Spiritual and Temporal, and Commons, in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:

SECTION 1: CITATION
This Act may be cited as the Royal Household Act 2007.

SECTION 2: ESTABLISHMENT
a. There shall be an executive department, to be denominated the Department of the Royal Household (DRH).
b. There shall be a principal officer therein, to be called the Secretary of State for the Royal Household; such office being held, in ex-officio manner, by the Lord Great Chamberlain.

SECTION 3: COMPETENCY
It shall be the duty of the Department of the Royal Household to represent the interests of the Royal Household in His Majesty's Government.

SECTION 4: COMMENCEMENT
This Act shall be in force and take effect from and after His Majesty's assent thereto.
