Of course the question of the union goes on.
Aside and apart from this, are there other issues that the community might want to address?
Economic unity.

How much economic unity? Is a common market desireable?
From what i've seen an economy is probally the hardest thing to try and simulate. I have seen a number of valiant attempts but most seem to turn to dust. And i believe that the reason they fail is that they tend to become overly complicated and time consuming. I, for one, am not an economist (it wasn't even in the curriculum when i was at school), so for me simplicity in this area is key.
If we have a common ecomonic system there would be more direct access customers.
But what would the circumstances of this common market be?
There's certain incompatibilities existing at large within the community, such as simulated goods for example. Some people like simulated goods, some don't and some, like myself, couldn't care less as long as the real services are the backbone of the economy. Another thing is currency: do we use the multiple currencies, bring in a common currency of our own, or bring in dollars and euros?
Has anyone got a workable economic model?
The simulated model would be made available for those that wish to use it. Those that do not wish to use it would simply not sign up for the service.
If we bring in dollars/euros we would be complicated and would have to adhere to some macro national laws. That is not to say we shouldnt do it.
Simulated economies leave me cold personally. I'm spoiled by inventing piles of currency out of thin air as the situation requires.
But I have no objection such, and I'm will to learn. Is there a sim that I should review as a model?

It has a very realistic and detailed economic simulation, even a military/ war simulation.
But what's really impressive is the depth of the economic portion.
