ALEXANDER THE FIRST by the Grace of God of Hanover King, Defender of the Faith and Supreme Governor of the Church in Hanover, unto Our trusty and beloved Troy Thompson, Gentleman, and unto all of Our loving subjects whatsoever to whom these Presents may come, Greetings!

WHEREAS We consider it necessary for the better and more effectual administration of Our Realm and preservation of Our Peace that one amongst Our loving subjects be appointed, from time to time, to render advice unto Us, and Our Heirs and Successors, upon all of the the many grave and weighty questions and concerns which are apt to arise in the governance of Our Realm;

AND WHEREAS Our High Court of Parliament presently meeting at Bergen has represented unto Us that Our trusty and beloved subject, Troy Thompson, Gentleman, is possessed of great knowledge and sagacity in all affairs of state :

BE IT NOW KNOWN that We, of Our especial grace, certain knowledge, and mere motion, and by the prerogative vested in Us by an Act of Our High Court of Parliament to more effectually constitute the Hanoverian state, do now constitute, erect, and appoint Our trusty and beloved subject the same Troy Thompson, Gentleman, aforesaid, to be Our Prime Minister for the duration of Our Pleasure in this respect, and We do ordain and command that he shall possess all of the powers, preeminences, privileges, and prerogatives to the aforesaid office attached, by custom and by the provisions of the Act aforesaid.

IN TESTIMONY WHEREOF We have caused these Our Letters to made Patent, WITNESS Ourself at Our Court of Saint George's Palace, this Seventh day of January in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and Seven, and in the Fourth Year of Our Reign.
