My Lords and Gentlemen,
As you have doubtless noticed, I have lately been falling woefully behind in my activity in my Hanoverian offices. Unfortunately, what I feared has come to fruition. At the commencement of this academic year, I was confident I'd be able to juggle my studies, which are admittedly my first priority, and my various duties in these parts. However, as my committments have increased, I am beginning to think that will not be the case. The word "resign" lingers in my throat, afraid to come out, and we certainly aren't at that point yet. Nevertheless, I think it would be unfair to His Majesty for me to continue to kid myself, Him, and the rest of you by saying it's business as usual in the Carson department. I am going to take a semi-leave of absence from my offices until December 1, allowing myself to determine, over time, what my true committments really are, while still keeping all of my normal responsibilites in Hanover, albeit in a state of dormancy.
I will be attempting to stay up on the latest happenings in Parliament and the Liberal Party as well as working on the State Arms when I have time, but I just want you all to know what's going on. Should you have any questions, I am glad to answer them.
As always,
With esteem,
Sir Carson Smith
