<strong>WHEREAS</strong> it is fitting that the sovereign as head of state should be saluted with an appropriate acclamation hymn upon his or her arrival at public events and ceremonies, We <strong>James</strong>, by the Grace of God King of Hanover do hereby decree that the hymn "God Save the King(Queen)" shall henceforth serve as the Royal Anthem, and that those lyrics to this decree attached and no others shall be considered official.
