Marchmain Palace
Bergen
Ladies and Gentlemen:
As I plan to resume a relatively active role in Hanover in the near future, I felt it appropriate to avoid confusion and to simplify matters by resuming the use, here, of my given name and by leaving off the use of the honorific "Your Majesty". That and the name Louis I will reserve for use in Varennes.
Henceforward, with regard to my presence in Hanover, I will be known simply as "His Royal Highness, The Duke of Marchmain", while also retaining the Marquisate of Valsinore. From here on in, only their Majesties, the King and Queen should be addressed as "Your Majesty".
However, since the new royal family has opted to reside in that rather Kremlin-esque looking pile on the other side of town known as Gagarin Palace, I trust that His Majesty won't mind at all if I continue to hang my hat here at Marchmain Palace. It's a simple 1000 room palace, but it's home. And while the throne room has been converted into a disco and the changing of the guard ceremonies have disappeared (my splendid legion of red-coated lifeguards has been replaced by one goose-stepping cossack carrying a rifle), there's still that marvelous balcony...and cats. Lots and lots of cats in this neighborhood. <_<
Hopefully that guard won't scare them all away. Tomorrow he gets a new uniform: pantaloons, wig, tricorn hat and a lace handkerchief. I'm declaring this palace and it's grounds a Russophile-free zone! Vive la France!
Here, kitty, kitty, kitty...
