Citizens of Hanover,
This is my first address to you as your new King.
While it is customary for the citizen to make a vow of allegiance to the new monarch, the monarch also has a duty to affirm his allegiance to the nation. I do so now.
I, Alexander, shall faithfully carry out my functions, obey the constitution, and the laws of Hanover and insure that they are obeyed, so help me God.
In this time of transition I ask that we focus on one thing, the future. Chang is always uncomfortable, but it does not have to be destructive. Change for the better is called growth. That is where Hanover needs to set her eyes, on positive growth. Growth in our infrastructure, growth in our community, and growth in our ties with our allies.
It is to our allies that I make the solemn promise, all the people that have made Hanover great will always find the welcome mat waiting for them.
Turning back to our community it is clear that in the immediate there are many details to be worked out. I am working with His Majesty King Thomas I to keep these transitions smooth. Additionally, I have removed myself from parliament. I leave that vital institution in the capable hands of the speaker of the house. I have also stepped down in all my positions in the government of His Majesty King David of Pendronia. My focus is completely on Hanover.
During the coming times I will have ideas about how to make Hanover even better, but no matter how many ideas I have, I shall never undervalue your ideas. Hanover is much more than the vision and work of any one person. All of us together innovating is what shall keep the heart and soul of Hanover alive and well. We will do new things, together. Some of them will work better than others, but we will never stop.
This is my vision for Hanover. One of constant growth, vibrant and alive with energy. Seeking new friends, new ways and new places.
I leave you with this final thought:
Hanover was created by change; Hanover thrived on change; Now is no different; We cannot stop change; So we must embrace it!
Thank you
