Alexander, by the Grace of God of Hanover and Athenoi and Calormen King, and Head of the Commonwealth and all Our loving subjects, and whatsoever to whom these presents shall come, greeting.



FORASMUCH as in Our Parliament an Act has been agreed upon by you Our loving Subjects the Members of Parliament the short Title whereof is The Athenoi (Legislature) Act 2005, yet this said Act is not of force and effect in the Law without Our Royal Assent,

An Act



To establish a local legislature in the Dominion of Athenoi.





Be it enacted by the Kings’s most Excellent Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Lords and Commons in this present Parliament assembled, and by the authority of the same, as follows:-



1. There shall be a local legislature in the Dominion of Athenoi and it shall be known as the Senate of Athenoi, henceforth referred to as the senate.



2. The senate shall consist of all subjects of His Majesty who have declared their residence in the Dominion of Athenoi during a national census. Members of the senate shall be referred to as Senators. They shall be entitled to the suffix "AS" (Athene Senator).



3. The senate shall be empowered to make law for the Dominion of Athenoi subject to the approval of the Legate of Athenoi and the restrictions imposed by this act. His Majesty may veto and revoke any act of the senate by order in council.



4. The senate may adopt non-binding resolutions stating the opinion of or conveying messages from the senate.



5. The Legate of Athenoi shall preside over the senate.



6. Legislation of the senate shall be considered inferior to Acts of the Parliament of Hanover and in the event of a contradiction, the act of the senate shall be invalid to the extent of the contradiction.



7. The senate may adopt rules of operation, to be known as the Rules of Conduct.



8. This act shall be cited as the Athenoi (Legislature) Act 2005 and shall come into force upon receiving royal assent.

AND WE DECLARE and will that after this Our Royal Assent given and passed by these presents, then and immediately the said Act shall be taken, accepted and admitted a good sufficient and perfect Act of the Parliament and Law to all intents, constructions and purposes and to be put in due execution accordingly.



In Witness whereof We have caused these Our Letters to be made Patent WITNESS of Ourself at Our court at Gagarin palace this Seventh day of February in the Year of Grace 2004, the First year of Our Reign.
