Its the greatest sci-fi/fantasy/comedy series ever written. Its all very deep and meaningful, and side splittingly funny. And just to make you all jealous, I've spoken to Terry Pratchett

I only have one thing to add to the suggestions already here: any Calvin and Hobbes Annual (the one I have is "It's a Magical World"). It's got the comedy interludes, but more than Discworld it's a nice reminder of the real world.
