| HM Alexander I | Greetings |
| Lord Damoneigh | greetings Sire |
| HM Alexander I | Tonight will be an informal discussion. |
| HM Alexander I | I would like to note that Matt has joined us. Welcome back. |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | hello |
| Lord Damoneigh | Yes welcome |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | Hello to all...what will be the topic of this informal discussion? |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | i may have to leave later, i stil have things to do tonight |
| HM Alexander I | Anyone is free to depart when they desire. |
| Lord Damoneigh | No problems we all understand |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | Gotta do whatcha gotta do |
| HM Alexander I | Mr. Thompson, this is the weekly Royal Court, so any Hanover related topic is fine, or baring those, any topic is ok. |
| HM Alexander I | Does the Prime Minister have anything pressing? |
| Lord Damoneigh | Not at this time |
| HM Alexander I | Matt, lots has happend while you've been chasing an education. We're now in the 7th Parliament, and in complete control of the government. |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | 7th? you have done a lot |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | last time i was there the parlament was in recess |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | but that was quite a while ago |
| HM Alexander I | We were in a pretty bad lull then, but things seem to be warming up again |
| Lord Damoneigh | It is active with 4 to 5 voting members now. All citizens are members |
| HM Alexander I | Welcome Sir Carson. |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | ah, that is different, if i remember correctly i was the clerk of parlament at one time being |
| Lord Damoneigh | Hello Sir Carson |
| Sir Carson | Thank you, Your Majesty. Good evening, everyone. |
| HM Alexander I | This is almost like a reunion! |
| Lord Damoneigh | Get out the royal champagne |
| HM Alexander I | Sir Carson, has the Lord Chancellor responded to your question? |
| Sir Carson | No, he has not, said the knight who may not be a knight after all but doesn't really care. |
| Sir Carson | I'll have to send him a message some time. |
| HM Alexander I | I see. He will straighten it out, I'm sure. |
| Sir Carson | Yes, I have no doubt he is. I think it's wonderful that our small Kingdom is able to have such a well-staffed Chancery. We are extremely fortunate to have the competent Lord High Chancellors we've had thus far. |
| Sir Carson | *no doubt he will |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | Since I have not been around much, I'd like to take care of some things and give a late congratulations to His Majesty regarding the birth of his daughter |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | as well as a delayed congratulations to the Right Honorable Count of Damoneigh for becoming Prime Minister |
| Lord Damoneigh | And we could use peolpe that can turn ideas from theory to practice |
| HM Alexander I | Thank you for that. |
| Sir Carson | Where would the right honorable Count be going with that? |
| Lord Damoneigh | Just stating it to pass it out there. I dont want to force anything |
| HM Alexander I | There does seem to be a rather bizzar balancing act that is needed for nations of our size. |
| HM Alexander I | We cannot heap all the work on one or two people. |
| HM Alexander I | And dividing the work too much makes it seem insignificant. |
| Lord Damoneigh | Those people doing it seem to get burned out |
| HM Alexander I | [That was strange. I assume he's having network problems.] |
| HM Alexander I | [Sir Carson tells me he should be right back] |
| Lord Damoneigh | ok |
| Sir Carson | I have returned. |
| Lord Damoneigh | everyone bow down to the Mastere |
| HM Alexander I | We were just discussing how to get the most from the citizens, without causing burn out. |
| HM Alexander I | Well, that's what I was interested in at least. |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | I can't say a thing without making myself a hypocrit, so I won't |
| Lord Damoneigh | some would like new ideas and new blood in the kingdom but are not good at recrutiing |
| Sir Carson | Me too. It seems to have been an issue for as long as I've been in Hanover. What I've noticed, though, is that we tackle things too much at once. Lets go bit by bit...identify a problem. |
| Sir Carson | I need to step away from the computer for a few minutes...I should be back soon, though; don't wait for me. |
| Lord Damoneigh | What can we do that is small enough but gets us forward |
| HM Alexander I | I believe Carson is on to something. We need constant progress, but not rushed and hasty work. |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | at this point anything I say is worth about as much as the advice of an outside consultant, though I'm still legally a citizen...just getting that out of the way |
| HM Alexander I | Speak your mind. |
| Lord Damoneigh | which one area I need help in. I need some one that can take my vision and help break it down in small enough bits so we have progress but not in leaps that we overstep our bounds |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | I'm probably making myself a hypocrit on the spot, but I still stand by the ideas that I presented months ago... |
| HM Alexander I | Prime Minister, that would make a working plan from the vision. I would suggest you start with just one of the items. |
| HM Alexander I | Mr. Thompson, please forgive my imperfect memory. Perhaps a quick refresh? |
| Lord Damoneigh | My vision statement is way to large for the size we have if done all at once. We need to determine what would help the Kingdom grow |
| HM Alexander I | Prime Minister, again I would say pick a point and work on it. One point well defined is actionable progress. What's your favorite point? |
| Lord Damoneigh | The counties but I know that is not what is important |
| HM Alexander I | ok, what's the most important? |
| Lord Damoneigh | Activities and events for the citizens |
| HM Alexander I | Then you should start with that. Why not start right now and see what these folks might want to do along those lines? |
| Lord Damoneigh | I would like to keep Second Life as a crown sponsered activity |
| HM Alexander I | Is anyone else here using Second Life at all? |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | I still think Hanover would do good to start purposeful offline recruitment and activities...the internet alone limits potential |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | be right back |
| HM Alexander I | Mr. Thompson is surely correct. We should not limit ourselves to online. |
| HM Alexander I | Carson, Matt, any ideas, online or off? |
| Lord Damoneigh | if not which online acitivities do you participate in that the Kingdom's citizens can pariticpate in. The online activities provide real time conntections. I am open to offline activities but Can not think of any |
| HM Alexander I | I think Mr. Thompson means face to face when he says offline, but I know we have had successful mail oriented activities in the past. |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | um, i really use my internet for a few multiperson things, mainly half-life2 and counterstrike source, but im not sure if the kingdoms citezens would be intersted in that |
| HM Alexander I | Matt, as an ME I'd think you'd love Second Life. You can build whatever you can concieve, without the worries of pesky things like stresses and loads. |
| Lord Damoneigh | Perhaps those interested in Half life might come to Hanover? |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | ok...I have returned, and yes, I mean face-to-face recruitment |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | yeah i have a couple friends useing the program for their class right now actually, but i have found that any kind of game like that seems to consume my soul and take my time away from my studies |
| Mr. Matt Buechner | um, im not sure, but maybe |
| HM Alexander I | Soul comconsuption is a problem! |
| Lord Damoneigh | unless I am the one doing it |
| HM Alexander I | I think we have all experienced that sort of feeling before. |
| HM Alexander I | Carson, you're pretty quiet. |
| Sir Carson | I think the direct approach works..."Want to become a diplomat for my landless kingdom?" can be surprisingly effective. |
| Lord Damoneigh | Carson what to be a diplomat for my landless Kingdom |
| HM Alexander I | Mr. Thompson, what would be an effective recruiting tool, face to face? (In fact, I'm going to deliver the immigration form to a potential citizen tonight.) |
| Sir Carson | Maybe incentives for citizens who recruit friends...if you bring someone else in, your probation period gets waived/sped up? (Presumably, that is a show of dedication.) |
| HM Alexander I | Carson, of course, why not be direct? That is immediately something of interest and obvious importance. Who would they be diplomatically involved with? |
| Sir Carson | The Kingdom of Varennes once had an interesting system in place...you would be appointed as a provincial governor as a reward for bringing in citizens. |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | the most effective tool is the word of mouth...but either the citizens will need help, or golden tongues |
| HM Alexander I | Prince, welcome. |
| Sir Carson | I'm using the diplomat as an example. It can be substituted with website designer, Home Secretary, MP, lawyer, etc. |
| HM Alexander I | Sir Carson is Sir Carson |
| HM Alexander I | I like that idea ALOT |
| HRH Prince Justin | Welcome Sir Carson! |
| HM Alexander I | And you just missed Matt who had to cut out. |
| HRH Prince Justin | Wheres the old hamburger? |
| Sir Carson | Thank you, Your Royal Highness. Incidentally, Your Royal Highness, not to bog things down, but did you see my post asking for a ruling? It's in Ellicott Square, under the title "Greetings!" |
| HRH Prince Justin | Matt who? |
| HM Alexander I | be polite |
| Sir Carson | (asking for work under cover of a joyous reunion...you know, the usual from me) |
| HRH Prince Justin | i love hamburgers Your majesty.. |
| HM Alexander I | I had one for lunch, two actually. |
| HRH Prince Justin | me too....and tots. and icecream tots |
| Lord Damoneigh | We could always use anothe MP |
| HM Alexander I | I'm going to banish tots |
| HRH Prince Justin | We'll, Sir Carson, what knighthood were you originally given? |
| HRH Prince Justin | What is this MP were talking about? And who is MATT? |
| HM Alexander I | Lord Chancellor, that might be totaly moot. He was wondering if his resignation wiped them all out, and if so, then he'd like to change his forum ID |
| Lord Damoneigh | The Calormeni will have to hide their tots and their shaped potatos as well |
| HRH Prince Justin | You don't resign from Orders of Chivalry... |
| Lord Damoneigh | We cant have the King ban our children |
| Sir Carson | That was what I was wondering; only the King can take them away, right? |
| HRH Prince Justin | Yes |
| Sir Carson | ^to HRH |
| HM Alexander I | Matt Buechner |
| HRH Prince Justin | If you had the order of the Act, then yes you are Sir Carson |
| HRH Prince Justin | if you had the Order of Hanover, no |
| Lord Damoneigh | Some one check the roll of honour |
| Sir Carson | I had Order of Hanover...but I thought we revised it so that was Sir too? The proclamation on usernames also directs me to use Sir Carson Smith... |
| HRH Prince Justin | No, I don;t believe it does. |
| HRH Prince Justin | It does not denote "nobility" |
| HRH Prince Justin | and does not give the style of "Sir" as far as I'm aware. |
| HM Alexander I | Nope, it does not. |
| HM Alexander I | Only the Order of the Act makes proper Knights. |
| HRH Prince Justin | See, this HRH knows his stuff, sometimes. |
| HRH Prince Justin | But of course, Sir Carson, you are welcome back! I missed you. |
| HM Alexander I | I think we may have been calling you Sir in error all this time, as I cannot find an LP specifically making you a proper knight! |
| HM Alexander I | Take it as a sign of our respect |
| Sir Carson | I think this is a perfect return to our previous discussion and a Segway into the topic of the possibility of codifying the constitution. |
| Sir Carson | Personally, despite being a Hanover geek, I still don't understand everything, and frankly, I don't know how to get the answers. I can only imagine how intimidating it must be for someone new... |
| HM Alexander I | I believe the Lord Oldenburg is very much supportive of the effort you outline. |
| HM Alexander I | He has already done a very excellent job of ordering the existing Parliamentry acts in the Hansard. |
| HRH Prince Justin | Well, I think that the future Order of St George should denote sir |
| Lord Damoneigh | Future Order? |
| Sir Carson | I'm more interested in the basics...this little nomenclature that actually makes a huge difference, as well as the basics of government. |
| HM Alexander I | Prince, you should put that before the council |
| HRH Prince Justin | Its never really been established |
| HRH Prince Justin | weve talked about ti and such |
| HM Alexander I | Prince, just as you came on we were discussing recruitment ideas, specifically offline recruitment., |
| HRH Prince Justin | You know, i assume this court was at 7 or 730 |
| HRH Prince Justin | i was on at 7... |
| HM Alexander I | read those announcements carefully! |
| HRH Prince Justin | 630-730? |
| HRH Prince Justin | ok lets talk about offline recruitment |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | the human mouth is the greatest direct tool for offline recruitment |
| HM Alexander I | Mr. Carson thinks we whould just basically walk up to someone and say "Would you like to be X in my non-landed kingdom?" (I assume he means friends, not just anyone on the street.) |
| Sir Carson | Yes, I do. Hey...do we have any sort of pop-up type advertising anywhere on the internet? Is there any way we can get that, even if we pool money? |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | the would really have to depend on the personality of the object person though |
| HRH Prince Justin | its annoying |
| Lord Damoneigh | I dont even look at the popups |
| HRH Prince Justin | me either |
| HRH Prince Justin | mine are all blocked |
| HM Alexander I | I think we should help the Prime Minister update the website, then at least interested people will have the best information. |
| HM Alexander I | I block popups too |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | pardon my vulgar language, but popups are a good way to piss people off |
| Sir Carson | Ok, but not everyone does. Like it or not, they're out there. I'm just making the suggestion... |
| HM Alexander I | It's not a bad one. The direct answer is, no we don't have any, sure we can get some |
| Lord Damoneigh | It was a good suggestion. I need a description of the king, the king's reign. |
| HRH Prince Justin | [URL=http |
| HRH Prince Justin | sir carson that link is to the LP creating the Most Excellent Order of hanover. |
| HM Alexander I | I have to go very soon. |
| HM Alexander I | Prime Minister, can you explain a bit what a "Crown Corp" is? |
| HRH Prince Justin | Please do |
| Lord Damoneigh | an entity that makes money but is held by the crown or the government |
| HRH Prince Justin | He hasn't yet "but I aint mad at him....heyyy." |
| HM Alexander I | That's what I thought. |
| Lord Damoneigh | URL=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_corporation |
| HM Alexander I | and there was have it! |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | it'd be nice if there was some code of honor in Hanover...I've been kinda obsessed with honor at times... |
| HM Alexander I | Well, all, I did not realize the time! I have to get to a meeting of a board of directors very soon. Any last minute items for the Crown? |
| HM Alexander I | MR. Thompson! What an interesting idea |
| Lord Damoneigh | under the canadian crown corporation in the second paragraph first sentence is a simplified version of what I want to use them for |
| HRH Prince Justin | code fo honour? |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | the problem with a code of honor is that defining honor is kinda difficult |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | that mix of virtue and dignity is kinda hard to define |
| Lord Damoneigh | Of course we would have to adapt them to our needs |
| HM Alexander I | Well, a code of conduct might not be too far off though. "Hanoverians do no use profanity in the forums" |
| HM Alexander I | I wish I could stay and discuss this more, but moving it to the forums will have to do for me. I must go soon. |
| Lord Damoneigh | ttyl |
| Mr. Troy Thompson | bye |
| HRH Prince Justin | Good evening Your Majesty. |
| HM Alexander I | Good night |
