Citizens and friends,

The constitutional referendum election has closed, and while the Privy Council is the body to make the official certification of result We feel confident that they will accept the final tally of 6 to 1 in favor.

How can We be so sure?

Simple, the Privy Council adopted the new Hanover Vote Authorization System (HVAS) to conduct this election.

HVAS was designed specifically for Hanover and it fills in all the gaps that the National forums system had:[list]
[*]HVAS allows the issuer of the vote to determine who may vote by group such as House of Commons, Citizen, Tourist or all.<>
[*]HVAS allows the issuer of the vote to determine who may vote by specific user name.<>
[*]HVAS allows the issuer of the vote to determine who may vote by authorization key which is something issued to people who have administrative authority to national online functions like the Athenio Stock Exchange.<>
[*]HVAS allows the issuer to set when a vote opens and closes.<>
[*]HVAS allows for secret ballot, or open ballot.<>
[*]HVAS has the option to scramble each ballot's choices so that each voter sees a random order. This is useful to eliminate the advantage that candidates have by being at the top of a ballot.<>
[*]HVAS allows for three voting methods.<>
[*]HVAS keeps a permanent database record of each issue and each voter, and that database is open to search by all members<>
[*]HVAS has announcement features which allow the issuer to post, private message and/or email a NOTIFICATION OF VOTE to those who are allowed to participate.<>

We have been working on this new feature for the last six weeks. It still has a few things which need to be finished and will always have new features We would like to see installed. Still, We felt it was ready to be used for any election on any topic. To show Our supreme confidence in this new feature We proposed to the Privy Council that they ask Us to demonstrate it to the whole nation in one of the most important elections possible, and We thank them for having faith in Our new system.

Therefore it is with a measure of satisfaction that We officially open the Hanover Vote Authorization System (HVAS) to public and government use. We ask any who might want to try the new system on an exploratory basis to please use restraint and only POST vote notifications and not use the private message or email functions.

It was, and remains, Our firm goal that the HVAS become the vote system of choice for the Hanover government and We ask those in the proper positions to please consider such adoption quickly.

Without further fan fare, we give you, the HVAS.

Regards,
HM Alexander of All Hanover
Citizens,

Many of you voted in the national referendum election, and so you know what the HVAS looks like from a voters perspective.

However, the HVAS allows for much more. You might want to take a moment and go to the HVAS main menu, and then click on "See Vote Results". You will be able to select from any available vote (at the moment, likely only the one) and then inspect the vote for yourself.

Also, you can check on how other people have voted in open ballot elections (such as should be the case for the House of Commons and House of Lords should they adopt the HVAS)

Regards,
HM Alexander
As speaker of the commons this is something I will definitely be exploring as an option.
This is certainly an impressive system, and one that should be publisized on the new website! smilie

As for the House of Commons, this would require some modifications to the standing orders, but I like the advantages of a reliable, centralized record of who voted for what.

Perhaps the other members of the House of Commons can informally present their opinions on this matter?
