King Louis of Varennes

As I was resuscitating the never-ending story, I attempted to find-out who the current Prime Minister of Hanover is so that I could name him. You'll all pardon me for losing track.

I thought the best place to turn would be the Parliament forum, but I can't find it. Is it just me and too many bott...I mean...glasses of Merlot or is it just not there? And could someone, somewhere, provide or point me to a list of all the officials of the government as well as parliamentaires, &c.

Merci.

Christopher Livingston

Your Majesty,

Things have changed a bit since you last stopped by. e.g., we now have a bicameral Parliament, etc. The House of Lords forum is here, and the House of Commons here.

Here is a list of government officials:

Prime Minister: HG the Duke of Montagu
Deputy Prime Minister: HG the Duke of Brunswick
Minister for HM Treasury: HRH the Duke of Guelph
Minister for Home Affairs: The Rt Hon. Richard Williams
Members of the House of Lords: HG the Duke of Montagu (Lord Chancellor), HG the Duke of Brunswick, HRH the Duke of Guelph
Members of the House of Commons: The Rt Hon. Sir Kieran Evereste (Speaker), The Rt Hon. Richard Williams, The Hon. Edgard Portela, The Hon. Matthew Buechner

Sincerely,

Montagu

King Louis of Varennes

Oh, you're the current successor to Robert Gresham. And Blue-Eyes is the Minister for Home Affairs. Hmmm. What a wonderful title. Well...I'm home. ;-)

Anyway. Congratulations to all of you, incidentally.

Lord Livingston, the links which you provided take me to "you do not have permission" land. Are the Parliament forums only visible to citizens?

King Louis of Varennes

One more thing Lord Livingston (Montagu, here), I couldn't help but notice that you're both the PM and the Lord Chancellor. How does that work-out?

I suppose I could read the constitution and figure it out myself, but I'm royalty and we never do that.

<_<

Christopher Livingston

Your Majesty,

Apparently they were indeed limited to citizens - His Majesty informs me that this problem has been resolved.

There's no real conflict, as the Lord Chancellor is now exclusively the Speaker of the Lords, rather than being de facto regent, etc., as he was under the previous Organic Law. Eventually I plan to end my illustrious Premiership and limit myself to the Lord Chancellorate, but I'll have to overcome my mad addiction to power first.smilie

Sincerely,

Durham

King Louis of Varennes

Fabulous. Gresham would be pleased to see that the bicameral parliament has at last come into being. He pushed mightily for a bicameral legislature at the start but I wouldn't consent to it, thinking it would be too unwieldy. In actuality, I would have liked to have had a bicameral parliament, too, because...no wait, my mistake...it was a bi-polar parliament I wanted to have. Sorry. Never mind.
Your Majesty,

You continue to render me speechless. Let all people know that my new title is Minister of Home Affairs Blue-Eyes. smilie

Minister Blue-Eyes

King Louis of Varennes

Well, Minister Blue-Eyes, if I were still on the throne of Hanover I'd be only too delighted to know that you'd be de-briefing me on a regular basis.
Indeed, Louis (James), you ruined my plan for world domination. I love how things finally come into fruition only long after I am gone, You could say that in the end I was proven right.

Though, I do find the level of language of the new constitution that defines the new institutions so utterly low.

But after all... what do the simple folk do / to help them escape when they're blue?

They write new constitutions, it seems.

Sincerely,

The Dark Lord.

King Louis of Varennes

Well, my dark one, you haven't been proven right, just ahead of your time. But you've still got cloven hooves and a tail.
