Of
The National Society for the Humanities</strong>
<em>Declared by HM Thomas I, 16th September 20</em>
<strong>Article I</strong>
The Society is a nationwide, non-governmental organisation. His Majesty the King is its Patron, and he shall be in charge of ensuring that this Charter is upheld. All members of the Society must uphold this Charter.
<strong>Article II</strong>
Any citizen of Hanover may become a member of the Society by petition to the President or, if no President is in office, His Majesty the King. They may accept or decline petitions for membership.
<strong>Article III</strong>
A member of the Society may be expelled by a unanimous vote of all its other members. A member of the Society may resign his membership in writing to the President or, if no President is in office, His Majesty the King.
<strong>Article IV</strong>
The President shall preside over the business of the Society, and ensure order. A President may only be in office when there are more than three members of the Society. There shall be an election for a new President held on the first Tuesday of November, January, March, May, July, and September. Extraordinary elections may be called at any time by the Patron, His Majesty the King.
The President must be a member of the Society. The President may appoint a Vice President to act in his stead during periods of absence. The President may appoint other officers as he sees fit in accordance with this Charter. The President may set fees for membership of the Society.
<strong>Article V</strong>
Discussions must be civil and orderly, and may concern any aspect of art or science, or the simulated background of Hanover and other micronations. Non-Hanoverians may participate in discussions at the invitation of the President. Resolutions may be declared at the end of a discussion by a majority vote.</div>[/font]
