Dear Hanoverians,

I will go into the purpose of this Society in more detail a little later on, but in order to give you some idea, I will briefly describe my intentions now.

In our recent discussion regarding the future of Hanover, we came to the conclusion (or at least I did) that we should have no fixed path, but simply allow people to go in whichever direction they pleased (towards secessionism or simulation, or anywhere in between). If they wish to gain official support for their chosen activities, they would need to lobby their political representatives, or imply become a political representative.

The National Society for the Humanities is meant primarily for those who are interested in designing and constructing a simulated background for Hanover. Things like fictional maps and histories, constructed languages and cultures, and all other aspects of micronational simulation, can be pursued here. I have taken care to point out that this Society holds no legal authority over anyone - it is simply here to create a simulation for those who want it. If you don't, you can simply ignore it.

So there you go. That's what this is all about. Feel free to initiate debate on the simulation, or any other arts and sciences topic, but make sure you sign up for membership first.

I think the first priority of the Society should be to create a realistic world (physical) map, and map of Hanover (physical and political). In the future, we may perhaps invite other micronations to be part of our world map, but let me make it clear that the point of this Society is not to be a new "MCS" or "Alternate Realities" project.

Sincerely,

Thomas R.
