Grace Mercy and Peace from God our Father and our Lord and Redeemer Jesus Christ;
As the Arch Bishop of Baden and the Presiding Bishop of the Calormen Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Synod I welcome you to Wittenburg Cathedral, and wish you the peace fo the Lord.
As a Lutheran Church "we hold that the Lutheran Symbolical writings of the Book of Concord are a correct exposition of Holy Scripture and understand the Lutheran Confessions in the "Quia" sense as a correct exegesis of Scripture. In other words, we adhere to the Confessions because we believe they faithfully expound the Holy Scriptures. We are not of the "Quatenus" understanding that the Lutheran Confessional witness is valid "only in so far as it proclaims the Gospel". e. We do not believe that the true Gospel is reduce-able from the text of Holy Scripture. The proclamation of God's Word of Law is essential if we are to truly hear His Word of Gospel." (Taken from the ELCM Online http://www.elcm.org)
We hold to the faitht hat has been handed down from the time of Christ and the prophesies that foretold of his common, of biblical inerrancy and that the Bible must be our word alone. We hold that God's Word is our great heritage, passed down, protected by the Holy Spirit and is the proper teachings, admonition and doctrine for right life and biblical confession. We reject scriptural hetrodoxy and ideas of a man made nature that seeks to rob us of this great heritage. We are Christians of the tradition handed down from Christ and restored in trust through the teachings of Luther.
This Cathedral serves as a worship centre for Calormen and all members of the Hanoverian Commonwealth and a beacon to our commitment to Gods' great word. As such all messages here we ask to have a worship orientated message and to be in relation to sermons given.
We are a liturgical but not necessarily high church abd we stand by the proclamation made by Martin Luther that we shall stand for our faith and nothing more."HEre I stand I can do no other. God have mercy upon us."
Ad Majorem Deo Gloram
