Nice use of German!
I suppose that your Church highly values Confessions, hence the name Calormen Confessional Evangelical Lutheran Synod?
Arch Bishop,
We do, as Confessional Lutherans be believe that the Lutheran Confessions, though not divinely inspired do hold the truth of proper scriptural exegesis and as such are the proper doctrine to learn and teach.
The Arch Bishop of Baden
I myself am a 'confessional' Christian adhering to the Westminister Confession of Faith (and the London Confession which is a modification of the Westminister).
Well I think that still counts good sir
By the way, on Predestination Luther says "A dispute about predestination should be avoided entirely... I forget everything about Christ and God when I come upon these thoughts and actually get to the point to imagining that God is a rogue. We must stay in the word, in which God is revealed to us and salvation is offered, if we believe him. But in thinking about predestination, we forget God . . However, in Christ are hid all the treasures (Col. 2:3); outside him all are locked up. Therefore, we should simply refuse to argue about election."
I'm very ecumenical on the matters of predestination. I don't believe it is the only way God is. I believe God is beyond Calvinism and Arminianism. Do I believe Arminians are going to hell for believing they chose God. No. Do I think they are a bit wrong. Yes. I believe anyone who trusts Christ as savior and lord will be saved regardless of their other beliefs.
Lutherans reject free will and predestination, we beleive that Christ died ont he cross for all sinners and asd such all have a way to salvation. We are also born with a natural knowledge of God or the Law, but not of Christ. We beleive that the Holy Spirit works within each and everyone of us to bring us to faith and that after that we are made the new man and we can reject this through a hardening of our heart such as Pharoah in the old testiment. We do rewject teaching that say once saved always saved.
