Mr. Speaker,

I hereby propose the following Resolution:

Quote:
[doHTML]

A Resolution

approving the dissolution of the Ministries of Immigration and Protocol.

It is resolved, by the elected representatives of His Majesty’s subjects, in this fourth Parliament here assembled, as follows:

I. The Parliament hereby approves of the Prime Minister's recommendation that the Ministry of Protocol be dissolved.

II. The Parliament hereby approved of the Prime Minister's recommendation that the Ministry of Immigration be dissolved.

[/doHTML]

This is more of a clean-up than anything else. The duties of Immigration are being absorbed by the Deputy Minister of Interior Affairs, and those of Protocol by the RCS.

Sincerely,

Sir Christopher

One of the unstated purposes of having a variety of positions is providing Subjects of His Majesty with avenues though which they can make contrabutions to the community through participation in government.

Before I support this resolution I would like to know the following:

- who will be DPM for Interior affairs?
- If this person is not Rosalie, do you have a position in mind for Rosalie or has she indicated her desire not to be involved in government? (this would indeed be unfortunate)
- Will Prince Justin be a member of the RCS and has Prince Justin communicated his support for such an arrangement?
Mr. Speaker,

I have already recommended Ms. Sluss for the position of DM for Interior Affairs, so yes, she will likely get the post.

Prince Justin is already a member of the RCS, and yes, he has.

Sincerely,

Sir Christopher
Would fast track be an agreeable way to deal with this resolution?
Mr. Speaker,

I believe that it would, as this appears to be a matter of procedure.

Sincerely,

Sir Christopher
I call for Fast Track, the house will divide. Members please register either

Although I should say that I think the PM (or rather the King on the PM's advice) should be able to dissolve and create departments at his pleasure.

Well, Thomas, you'll have to amend the Constitution to get that... This method, while it takes a day or so longer, is at least legal.
