<span class=title> Statement on Pendronian Succession</span><hr size=1>
[font=georgia;]<strong><div style="text-align:center">JR</div></strong>

As most of you are aware, His Majesty, King David of Pendronia has greatly honored me by naming me as his successor to the throne of his Kingdom until such time as a legitimate heir shall be born to him.

Legitimate concerns have been raised by the people of Pendronia about the possibility of a foreign monarch heretofore unknown to them assuming the mantle of state. Questions have also been raised about what will become of Pendronia in the event of the King of Hanover's accession to the throne.

Given the very real and entirely understandable anxiety which has arisen in Pendronia on account of this development, I felt it appropriate to make a few remarks outlining my thoughts about the subject.

I would first of all like to express to the people of Pendronia my sincere admiration for the culture which they have developed and the dedication which they have shown to their community. The Kingdom of Pendronia is a proud nation of patriotic citizens, proud of their accomplishments as a people and enthusiastic about Pendronia's prospects for the future. Pendronians maintain a deep and abiding filial affection for their Sovereign, King David, who has earned their devotion by way of his sound and benevolent leadership.

The people of Pendronia should know that I am more honoured than I can express that King David has invited me into the Pendronian family in this way, and my only desire is to better acquaint myself with the people and culture of Pendronia. The more I see of Pendronia, the more fascinated I become, and the more fond.

Should the day ever come that I am called to serve the people of Pendronia as their Head of State, it should be made quite clear that the Crown of Pendronia would not be replaced by the Crown of Hanover, neither vice-versa. Although the two nations would share a common monarch, each would maintain its separate monarchy. There will be no annexation of one nation by the other.

Upon assuming the throne of Pendronia, the Pendronian people may be assured that I will thoroughly educate myself in Pendronian constitutional law and that I will reign at the advice of the government according to the constitution. Moreover, I would be committed to safeguarding and celebrating the traditions and cultural elements which have come to make Pendronia the marvelous community which it is.

In time, it may be sensible for the elected governments of Pendronia and Hanover to discuss the possibility of an act of union, wherein the our two peoples are brought together as one united kingdom, thus creating a greater, more populous and more vibrant nation. While King David and I are of the mind that such a move could only benefit our two peoples, we realize that any such action must be undertaken in due course and only after our two peoples have become comfortable with the idea.

To my dear friends from Pendronia who have interacted with us on this discussion board, allow me to thank you for your presence, for your participation and for your thoughts. Know that you are always welcome to share community with us and that we regard you as brethren. Know also that I have read and heard your justifiable concerns over the succession. I hope that my words will have, in some way, eased some of your concerns and doubts. It is my hope to make a state appearance on Pendronia's discussion board one day in order to interact with the citizens of Pendronia and address their concerns in a frank and casual format. I believe that we can become trusted friends if only we get to know each other better.

I would also like to reassure my loving subjects in Hanover that, should I one day assume the crown of Pendronia, it will not in any way diminish my dedication to my duties to you and to our nation, nor will my love for you be cut in half. For as long as I remain upon the throne of this nation in good health, my people may be assured that I will remain indefatigably solicitous of their welfare and of the success of our national endeavors.

It is my sincere hope that the citizens of Pendronia and my subjects in Hanover will begin to acquaint themselves with one another and that many friendships will develop leading to a greater friendship between our two realms.

May Pendronia and Hanover be blessed with joy and success, now and always.
