Is there an overview of all politcal parties in Hanover? Do they have homepages? Manifestos?

Christopher Livingston

Mr von Arabien,

Unfortuantely, (or in my case, fortunately!) there is only one political party in Hanover currently, the Unity Party, which advocates the Empire with Pendronia. The 4th parliament will have two MPs for Unity, myself and Lord Brunswick. You can see more information here.

Sincerely,

The Lord Pious
How many members does the Unity Party have?

Christopher Livingston

Mr von Arabien,

Well, at the moment, I believe that it is only HRH Lord Brunswick and myself. On the other hand, there are a few people I've spoken to that may eventually join. Hopefully by the next election, our ranks will have been bolstered, but the party has only existed for about a month.

Sincerely,

The Lord Pious
Thanks for all the information.

After all, as I understand your manifesto (or your political aims), I'd consider Unity Party to be conservative and nationalist.

Actually, I'm thinking about founding a Freedom Party. But this only makes sense if I find some other people to join.
At one point on ezboard there was Free Democratic Party named after the German one. It was pro business mixed with a moderate tax base to support new business and called for a strong defense
There have been a few parties in the past - Kieran Evereste's "Hanoverian People's Party", Robert Gresham's "Progressive Conservative Party", and Christopher Wyndham's party, of which I forget the name (maybe the Free Democratic Party?).

I don't really consider the Unity Party "nationalist" in the sense I understand that tem - since our main policy is a strong union with another nation that will make us a multi-national, multi-cultural Empire.

It's be nice to have more parties in Hanover, but as you say, only if people will join them.
Christopher Wyndham's was the Natural Justice Party, Daneil Dreesbach and Simon Thompson were the active members of the Free Democratic Party.

If there is interest in forming another political party, I am more than happy to be involved in a new Hanoverian Peoples Party, if only so we can have a clash of parties!

Sincerely,

Kieran Evereste.

How about A Hanoverian People's Free Democratic Party
Quote:How about A Hanoverian People's Free Democratic Party

What should that be good for? Political paties need a clear profile. Hanover surely does not need a second conservative party.

My idea of a Freedom Party would include the following political priciples:
- freedom of economy, low taxes, low social welfare
- freedom of the individual, clear human and civil rights
- the rule of law and a fully functional legal system
- more democracy, the Crown shall be limited to formal affairs and representation

Anyone interested?
