Hanoverian Banks
Dear Daniel and Kegz,

I know I have given you several issues to think about and I know that you both have commitments elsewhere. However there are a couple of matters I would like to ask you about.

Recently the issue of banks in Hanover has been discussed in the forums. I think it would be advantageous to try and develop a party policy on this that we can jointly put forward in the forums. I know that there are slight differences of opinion on this subject between myself and Daniel but I would like to work out a common party position on this.

Please let me know your views.

Best Wishes

Kevin

Re: Hanoverian Banks
My view is that private banks can charge whatever they decide. The public bank can be the counterweight to these private banks so that those customers that do not want to pay outrageous prices for poor service can have at least one option out there.

basically if you agree to pay the price for what you get then it is on you. But if the bank does not do something that is in the right to know package then the bank is liable.

Legislation
require banks to tell customers what services are offered for what price.

Re: Hanoverian Banks
Daniel,

I agree with nearly everything in your statement. I agree that market forces should determine the flow of business. There is only one question I would ask: do you think that the private banks should be supervised by a Central Bank?

I would like to get Kegz's views also and then perhaps we could put out a statement of the FDP's view on this subject.

Re: Hanoverian Banks
Yes the private banks should be supervised by an outside entity just like any other business to ensure no wrongdoing.
