Re: So
Dear Pardek, Kegz,
I think that in a short period of time we have achieved a great deal. We have got the party up and running with an agreed leadership and party programme. We are getting attention on the other forums in Hanover. I believe that we are now the second largest and active party after the HPP. We have to keep the momentum going.
On every issue coming for discussion in the general forums, we will voice our comments and views. We will keep our name in front of the Hanoverian people. We have done this on the subject of the Hanoverian Private Bank.
We need a couple more members. Could Kegz chase up his contacts in the Liberal Democrats. I think there is only one member and he probably agrees withe FDP policies. Maybe he would agree to merge the Lib Dems with the FDP.
Anybody else who we could approach?

Re: So
I tried (unsuccessfully) to merge the FDP and the NJP. Feel free to try again.

Re: So
Dear Kegz,
The NJP is effectively defunct. As you will see from another post by Bob Gresham today in the Ellicot Gardens forum, the NJP's sole member Kevin Brennehan is bowing out of Hanoverian politics.
I will try and approach the LDP member again about coming over to us. Although we are not represented in Parliament, as a party me and you are members of the Royal Council of State which gives us some clout. Pardek has applied to join the High Court. So we do have influence. I'm also going to contact Steven Foong about drafting a banking law.

Re: So
Guys,
I've taken three initiatives today to try and get our message across:
1. I've posted a message on the Ellicot Square general forum pointing out that as the NJP has imploded, the FDP is the only viable alternative to the HPP.
2. I've posted to the parliament asking any oppsition MPs to work with the FDP to sponsor our bills.
3. I've contacted Steve Foong about his working with us to draft a banking law.

Re: So
Simon, Daniel
If you look at the thread "Free Democratic Party" on the Ellicot Square forum you will see that the FDP is clearly in the public eye and attracting a lot of attention. Even the governing HPP is not getting this amount of publicity.
I am speaking on behalf of the FDP in that forum so if there is anything that I say there which you guys disagree with, please let me know on this party forum.
The next step is to get Daniel appointed to fill the vacancy in the High Court.

Re: So
Looks good there. I agree that there should be only 1 voice out there.

one voice?
That sounds good, but if you let just anyone in here then we can (and I'm sure I will) witness the divisions.

Re: one voice?
Who says we are not letting anyone in? You would not have been able to post here if you had not been let in. Non-FDP members may post here so I don't understand what you are saying. Perhaps you were looking for the Conservative Party forum - which is closed to non-members.
To which divisions do you refer?

Re: one voice?
Besides if we wanted you out we would set up a different forum for FDP only

*SIGH*
Gentlemen,
First: I appriciate being let in to see what FPD is saying and thinking.
THANK YOU.
Second: Pardek says "I agree that there should be only 1 voice out there."
To me that implies there are multiple voices "in here", where here is this forum and there is everywhere else.
Multiple voices means division. Not necessarily big or even bad divisions. But if uniformity of presentation is your goal then you have a problem by allowing people to see your deliberations.
Third: Sorry for interupting. I have been treating this forum as though I'm a guest here and that my input is not sought (tolerated out of politeness, but not really wanted). I only posted that one time to point out a situation you might be unaware of. I only posted this time to clarify my earlier post. Unless you specifically address me here I'll probably stay mute and just observe. I mean, I'm not a member and I don't want to side track your work with my noise.
Regards,
Char-Lez

Re: *SIGH*
Mr. Braden,
If you care to read our forum you will see that in post number 84 dated 24/6/2003 I clearly stated that although I was speaking on behalf of the FDP, I was asking my colleagues to let me know if there was anything they disagreed with. This is the democratic way.
We are a democratic party and on major issues we discuss them together before making a public statement. This is not however practical on every issue where a quick response is required. However we do have (unlike several other parties) a party programme and all statements issued by myself or my colleagues are within the guidelines of that document.
Therefore there is no contradiction in myself, Simon or Daniel speaking on behalf of the FDP. Whenever an issue comes up, we don't feel that every party member has to express publicly his view on it.
Perhaps if you took the plunge and joined a party (I think that the Conservatives would be most suited to you) you would begin to understand how political parties function and operate.
